Resisting the permanence of the other works in the series, the miniatures in Fathom are suspended in 18L of set cooking gelatine. Fleeting but powerful, this dystopic Microcosm received a favourable mention in Art New Zealand magazine after its showing at the 2010 Anthony Harper Awards where it lasted for six days before the melting work was removed by concerned gallery staff.
